Colonel Hammed Ibrahim Ali was born on January 15, 1955. He was Military Administrator of Kaduna State, Nigeria from August 1996 – August 1998 during themilitary regime of General Sani Abacha. He is married and blessed with 4 children.
Col. Hammed Ibrahim Ali holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in Criminology.
He was appointed as the Comptroller-General of Customs on August 27, 2015 by General Muhammadu Buhari, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Prior to his appointment as the new Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Ali was the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari prior to his assumption of office as the president of Nigeria.
After retirement, as a Nigerian Army Colonel, he became Secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, a northern lobbying group, and a supporter of Major General Muhammadu Buhari in his bid to run for president.
In June 2006 Ali stated that the North would regain the presidency in 2007.He supported Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s comments to the effect that president Olusegun Obasanjo would honour his pledge to vacate office in 2007.
