Nkem Abonta Uzoma
Nkem Abonta Uzoma was born on January 18, 1962, to Mr and Mrs John Nkem Abonta of Akwete in Ukwa East Local Government Area of Abia State. He is a member of the Federal
House of Representatives, representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency of Abia State under the plat-form of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Nkem attended St. Raphel Primary School Obehie (now known as Central School, Obehie) between 1970 and 1974 , Stella Maris College Port Harcourt between 1974 and 1979, and finally University of Jos between 1984 and 1988, from where he bagged the prestigious Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree. At the same university, he also obtained a Master's degree in Law between 1990 and 1992.

Prior to being elected into the Federal House of Representatives, Nkem was a Councilor and a member of the State House of Assembly in Abia State.

Nkem was elected into the Federal House of Representatives in the Year 2007, and was re-elected in the year 2015. At the Federal House of Representatives, Nkem is a member of the Committee on Public Petitions.


Legislative Interests of Nkem Uzoma borders on Agriculture, Carpital Market, Trade and Investment. He targets to achieve good governance in Nigeria through legislation
