CHRIS EMEKA IFEANYI AZUBOGU born 1969, is a member of
the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra State, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He attended Umunnealam Primary School, Umudim Nnewi, where he sat for and obtained First School Leaving Certificate in 1974. For his secondary education, Chris Ifeanyi Emeka Azubogu attended Okongwu Memorial Grammar School Nnewi where he obtained West African School Certificate (WASCE) in 1980. Thereafter, he proceeded to the University Of Nigeria Nsukka, where he studied English and obtained Bachelors of English language (B.Eng) in 1985.

In the year 2011, Chris was elected into the Federal House of Representatives, where he represents the Nnewi North/South/Ekwusigo Federal Constituency of Anambra State, under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and was re-elected in 2015.

His bills include: a bill to alter section 15(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) aimed at altering the motto of Nigeria from “Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress” to “Justice and Equity, Peace and Progress”; the National Emergency Management Agency (establishment, etc.) Act (amendment) bill, 2013, with which he sought to amend the National Emergency Management Agency Act so as to merge Federal Fire Service establishment under Fire Emergency Management Act (establishment etc.), Act Cap N34 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 to harmonize the activities of disaster management and emergencies, by so doing, avoiding duplicity of functions of the two agencies.

Others include a bill for the amendment of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Act 2013 and another bill to amend the National Population Commission Act Cap N67 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, which sought to merge Population Commission with National Identity Management Commission so as to harmonize the activities of data collection and management and avoid duplicity of functions of the two commissions.
