Biography of Mahmud Lawan Maina

Mahmud Lawan Maina
MAHMUD LAWAN MAINA born 1964, is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the
Dikwa/Mafaf/Konduga Federal Constituency of Borno State of Nigeria under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He obtained General Certificate of Education (GCE) and West African School Certificate (WASC) from Government Secondary School Monguno Borno State in 1986. He studied Animal Health and Husbandry  in Borno College of Agriculture and obtained ND in 1989. He then moved to the University of Maiduguri, where he studied Public Administration and Education and obtained Advanced Diploma in Public Administration and Bachelors of Education in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

Mahmud Lawan Maina served as the Chairman of Mafa Local Government Area of Bornu State.


In the year 2011, Mahmud was elected as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, to represent the Dikwa/Mafaf/Konduga Federal Constituency of Borno State of Nigeria under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His legislative interest border on rural development, poverty alleviation and national security. He targets to achieve remarkable improvement in the holistic living standards of the citizenry and the guarantee of the peace and security across Nigeria.
