Biography of Ogbeide-Ihama Omoregie

OGBEIDE-IHAMA OMOREGIE born 1974, is a member of the
Federal House of Representatives, representing the Oredo Federal Constituency of Edo State under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama was born to the humble family of late Sir Godfrey Ogbeide-Ihama and late Mrs. Foluke Ogbeide-Ihama. He is of the Jackson Ogbeide-Ihama dynasty of Benin (Umogun n’ihogbe Royal family) and the Eboigbe n’etebite (Egbe latose family). His mother is of the Lawani-Bokini family in Benin (Egbe Ezomo and Okemole) and (Egbe Ero n’urubi/Izevbokun no’rio Oshodin- Oloke family).

Omoregie’s educational pursuit began in Emotan nursery and primary schools in Benin City. He attended Federal Government College, Warri where he sat for Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) in 1993. He then proceeded to the University of Benin, where he enrolled for Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering bagging a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) when he graduated in the year 1999. He enrolled for his Masters Degree at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, United States,  and passed out in the 2009, obtaining M.Sc. in oil and gas management.
Ogbeide is a specialist in solar installations, with Lenbrock Solar Systems. He worked as a Drilling Engineer with Exxon Mobil. He was also the, Country Manager of Score Group worldwide (oil and gas).

Ogbeide-Ihama Omoregie was later elected into the Federal House of Representatives, where he represents the Oredo Federal Constituency of Edo State under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His legislative interests border on youth and women empowerment, power generation and proper management of national resources. He targets to drive constitutional democracy, sponsor and support bills that will help enhance the well being of his constituents and Nigeria at large.

Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama is a devoted Christian and family man. He is married to Oge Ogbeide- Ihama.


He is a member of several international and local organizations including the Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom (CMI), Association of MBAs (AMBA), Rotary Club International etc.
