Biography of Owoidighe Ime Ekpoatai

Oeoidighe Ime Ekpotai
OWOIDIGHE IME EKPOATAI born 1966, is a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Eket/Onna/Esit
Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.

She attended Girls Secondary School (GSS) AFANA where she sat for, and obtained West Africa School Certificate (WASC) in the year 1980. She proceeded to the University of Uyo, where she obtained a B.Sc. in Accounting in the year 1995 after her graduation. Then in the year 2003, she obtained an MBA in Accounting after studying for her post-graduate program at Imo State Universities.

Owoidighe Ime Ekpoatai worked as a teacher, a state treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, an Executive Chairman of Onna Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, a Quality Assurance Officer and an Accountant.

Owoidighe Ekpoatai was elected into the the Federal House of Representative as a member representing Eket/Onna/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. Her Legislative Interests border on environmental protection, labor matters, girl advocacy, oil and gas, food sufficiency, education, rural development, women empowerment, finance and appropriation. Her target achievement is to check-mate oil spillage, encourage legislation on girl child education, stiffer penalty for rape, international practicing by the oil & gas sector, developing the rural areas, improvement on educational sector, legislation on taxation and implementation of budget.


Owoidighe is a holder of the Justice of peace award 2006, and an Ambassador of Peace 2009.
